For people who love to read

You settle in with a book, and five minutes later you are hunting for your other glasses.

Readers are great for the page but blur everything beyond it. Someone walks into the room, the phone rings, the kettle whistles, and suddenly you are pulling glasses off and on again.

Man at his desk with several glasses cases
1

The page is fine, the room is a blur

Look up from your book and faces, clocks and the TV fade out of focus.

2

Reading outdoors is a squint

Bright sun on the patio or at the beach washes out the page and tires your eyes.

3

Tablets and e-readers wear you down

An evening of reading on a screen can leave your eyes feeling heavy.

BlueLume was made so you can stay in your story and still see everything around you clearly.

Everything a Book Lover Could Ask For

From the first chapter in the morning sun to the last page under the lamp, BlueLume keeps every word and every face in focus.

Near and far focus through BlueLume lensesFar and near, same pair
1

Every Word Sharp, Every Face Clear

Read the fine print in a paperback, then look up at whoever just walked in. The near-to-far lens shifts with your eyes so you never need to set your book down to swap glasses.

Perfect for novels, magazines, cookbooks and crossword puzzles.

Read on the Porch Without Squinting

When the sun hits the page, the lenses tint on their own to soften the glare. Walk back inside and they clear up again for lamp light.

Beach reads and garden afternoons just got a lot more comfortable.

"I take my book out to the garden every morning now. The tint makes the bright pages easy on my eyes."Mark T., 52, Verified Customer

Why it matters

Why Readers Often Fall Short After 45

Standard reading glasses are made for one close distance only. That works for the page, but every time you look up, the rest of the world turns blurry and you reach for a different pair.

Lenses that support near-to-far focus are designed to let you move between the page and the room smoothly, while light-adaptive tint and blue light filtering add comfort indoors and out.

Please note: this section offers general educational context about everyday vision needs. It is not a personal endorsement of BlueLume Glasses by a named clinician.

Got questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Can BlueLume replace my reading and distance glasses?

BlueLume combines near-to-far lenses in one pair, so you can read small print, check your phone and see road signs without switching. A custom prescription may still be needed for diagnosed eye conditions or very specific vision needs.

Do they really filter blue light and darken in sunlight?

Yes, both features are built into the lenses. The blue light filter adds comfort around screens, while the photochromic coating darkens in bright sunlight and returns to clear indoors.

Do they need charging or batteries?

No. There is nothing to charge and no batteries to replace. They work the moment you put them on.

Are they comfortable for all-day wear?

Yes. At under one ounce, they feel light on your face and look like regular glasses. The slim frame is made for comfortable wear from morning to night.

Do I need an eye exam or prescription to order?

You do not need to submit a prescription to order BlueLume Glasses. If you have a diagnosed eye condition or a custom prescription, ask your eye care professional whether they fit your vision needs.

Are they good for work or office use?

Absolutely. Read documents, work at your computer and look across the office with the same pair. The built-in blue light filter adds comfort during long screen sessions.

How long does shipping take?

Your order is dispatched within two business days, and standard delivery usually takes another two to three days. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships.

What if they are not right for me?

You are covered by a 90-day money-back guarantee. If you are not completely happy, return them for a full refund. Every pair also comes with a 10-year warranty.
